Uniqlo India reported a 44% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹1,724 crore and a 41% rise in net profit to ₹253 crore for the financial year ended March 2026, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies, as shared in media reports.
The results reflect the Japanese apparel retailer’s continued growth in India, where it has expanded its business more than fourfold since FY22. Since entering the country seven years ago, the company has built its presence around everyday basics and functional clothing rather than trend-driven collections.
Uniqlo remains confident about India’s long-term growth prospects and plans to expand through new stores in existing and untapped markets. It also intends to strengthen customer engagement through its mobile app and e-commerce operations.
The company’s expansion plans come as India remains an important market for global apparel retailers. Uniqlo is seeking to grow its international business alongside competitors such as Zara and H&M, while building on demand for its core clothing ranges.
In its global annual report, parent company Fast Retailing said Southeast Asia, India and Australia had recorded double-digit revenue growth for four consecutive years since FY22, identifying these markets as having further growth potential.
Fast Retailing aims to achieve annual sales of ¥100 billion, or approximately $633 million, in each of these markets. To support this ambition, it plans to strengthen local management teams and adapt product ranges, marketing, store operations and e-commerce offerings to tropical climates.
Uniqlo’s latest financial performance adds to its growing presence in India’s apparel market, as the retailer looks to expand its store network and digital channels.
