Swiggy co-founder Lakshmi Nandan Reddy Obul has stepped down from the company’s board, resigning from his role as Whole-Time Director and Head of Innovation to pursue other professional interests.
The resignation came into effect on April 10, 2026, according to a regulatory filing by the on-demand convenience platform. Swiggy confirmed that Obul’s decision marks his transition away from board-level responsibilities as he explores new opportunities beyond the company.
Swiggy further announced that its board has approved the appointment of Renan De Castro Alves Pinto as Nominee Director representing Prosus Ventures, succeeding Roger Rabalais, who is stepping down following his transition from the firm.
Additionally, the board has cleared the appointments of co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Phani Kishan Addepalli and Group CFO Rahul Bothra as Additional Directors, effective June 1, 2026.
Commenting on the changes, Swiggy Group CEO Sriharsha Majety said, "Phani and Rahul have been with Swiggy since the early days and have been instrumental in steering the company through its most defining chapters".
"Their understanding of our business and unwavering focus on both innovation and execution have been foundational to our journey. As we enter the next phase of our growth, their perspective will be invaluable in shaping our long-term direction."
On Obul's departure, Majety said, "Nandan has been a vital collaborator and a visionary force throughout Swiggy's evolution, from our beginnings in a single Bengaluru neighbourhood to becoming a nationwide platform serving millions".
In a separate filing, Swiggy said its board has approved amendments to its Articles of Association. These include the removal of provisions related to nomination rights held by Accel and SoftBank, along with revisions enabling Sriharsha Majety to nominate himself and one member from the senior management to the board, subject to certain conditions.
The changes also involve replacing the existing nomination rights of Lakshmi Nandan Reddy Obul with provisions allowing Phani Kishan Addepalli to nominate himself to the board.
